David Nelson concentrates his law practice on representing physicians and long-term care facilities in professional negligence cases and other healthcare related matters. His practice areas also include defense of automobile liability matters, general liability claims, coverage issues, and general insurance defense. He has extensive trial experience in both state and federal courts.

Mr. Nelson has been a member of the State Bar of Georgia since 1995. He is a member of the Macon Bar Association, American Bar Association, Defense Research Institute, and Georgia Defense Lawyers Association.

He is admitted to practice in the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, the United States District Courts for the Northern and Middle Districts of Georgia, the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, and State and Superior Courts of Georgia.

Mr. Nelson earned a B.A. from Emory University (1990) and a J.D. from Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law (1995).

Mr. Nelson's professional involvement also includes a position on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association. Mr. Nelson has received numerous honors and recognition for his work, including being named a Georgia Super Lawyer Rising Star in the field of Medical Malpractice Defense in both 2005 and 2006.

Over the years, Mr. Nelson has been invited to speak at various seminars, and most recently he was asked to speak at the 2006 Medical Records Law in Georgia seminar. In addition, several of his articles have appeared in the Law Journal of the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association.
