Joseph D. Stephens Associate
Joseph D. Stephens concentrates his law practice in the area of civil litigation. He focuses on the representation of governmental entities in employment discrimination, civil rights, and general liability claims.
He also represents insurers, self-insured employers, and state and local governments in defense of workers' compensation claims. His practice areas also include defense of automobile liability claims, general liability matters, and general insurance defense.
Mr. Stephens was admitted to the State Bar of Georgia in 2010 and is a member of the Macon Bar Association. He is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Georgia and all State and Superior Courts of Georgia.
He graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Georgia (2007) and a J.D. from Mercer University, Walter F. George School of Law (cum laude, 2010). While in law school, he served as Managing Editor of the Mercer Law Review, Historian for Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity, and earned a certificate in Advanced Legal Writing. He also received the Faculty Legal Writing Award in 2008.
